Moodboards & Assemblies

Plan your creative vision with visual boards before generating, then put what you capture in order before you cut.

Moodboards

Define your visual style and tone:

  • Collect reference images, colors, textures
  • Arrange on a canvas
  • Share with collaborators
  • Reference when writing generation prompts

Assemblies

Find Assembly under ASSEMBLE in the Splice sidebar. It shows in both Simple and Full mode.

An assembly puts your captured clips in order before you cut them in Studio:

  • Start a new assembly, or begin from a template
  • Arrange your captured clips, generated or filmed, in order
  • Open the sequence in Studio to cut it on the timeline
  • Save an assembly you like as a template

Assembly is separate from the Storyboard, which plans visual beats before you shoot.

Tips

  • Create your moodboard first for visual style
  • Plan shots in a storyboard before generating
  • Assemble clips once they are captured, then cut in Studio
  • Reference moodboard images in prompts
  • Saves credits by getting results right faster
